This month in “Really Neat Things” we have a Double Neat Whammy:
The first one falls firmly within the category of “Different-Snack-Flavored Snacks.” There have always been multi-variety flavors of snack foods (think ranch flavored Doritos, peanut butter filled M&Ms), but in the past couple of years there’s been a branching-out trend that’s getting pretty creative. One of my favorites was the Lay’s Kettle Cooked Indian Tikka Masala chips, which is now out of its limited time on grocery shelves. As the article notes, Pimm’s popsicles are available only on the Other Side of the Pond at the moment.

This second Really Neat Thing can be had right here in the U.S.A., and it comes from a national favorite: OREO.
They’re running a contest, and some entries can even get their own personal small batch sent directly to them. Maybe the Oreo bakers just want to try out one of your recipes. Suggestions, anyone?

(Someone I know suggested an Oreo where the inside tastes like the whole Oreo instead of just the filling, and the outside tastes like the whole Oreo instead of just the outside. Seems complicated, but so does Mississippi Mie Pie, and the Oreo people pulled that off.)
For the record, I’ve tried the Firework, Blueberry Pie, and Waffle & Syrup flavors.
